  • Accessing & Utilizing the Action Logs

**NOTE: THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE SHOWS YOU HOW TO ACCESS INDIVIDUAL ACTION LOGS. TO ACCESS ACTION LOGS FOR YOUR ENTIRE INSTANCE, PLEASE SEE HELP ARTICLE "REPORTING - ACTION LOGS."

**Note: It is now possible to add notes to existing action logs. For more information, please see THIS article.

***Please note: depending on instance customization, your Customer, Work Order, and other list view pages may be located in different places, and named different things. Please contact a supervisor or FastGem support if you have difficulty finding the correct pages.

***NOTE: THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE FOCUSES ON CUSTOMER AND WORK ORDER ACTION LOGS. KEEP IN MIND THAT ACTION LOGS EXIST FOR OTHER TYPES OF RECORDS, TOO, SUCH AS INVOICE RECORDS, PAYMENT RECORDS, REP/TECH PROFILE RECORDS, ETC., ETC. CUSTOMER AND WORK ORDER ACTION LOGS ARE USED AS EXAMPLES IN THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE MOST COMMONLY UTILIZED.

    **Note: Action logs are searchable:

    Accessing Action Logs

*Note: The Action Log data available for users to view differs depending on user permissions. Customer information is restricted to protect privacy/security.

Accessing Action Logs from Rep's Sales Page or Techs' 'Installations/Appointments' page:

Accessing From List View: Navigate to Orders>Customers>Action Log (black book) Icon:

    Or, Orders>Customers>Eyeball Icon>Action Logs slider:

**You can also view/edit/utilize action logs from other list views by navigating to Orders>Work Orders or Orders>Leads and following the same steps as you would in 'Customers/People'.

NOTE: Some list views may have what appear to be two or more Action Log 'books' beside each other:

This occurs when the Action Logs are 'split.' The 'books' in the 'S' column are the action logs pertaining to the customer, or 'submission.' The 'books' in the 'WO' column are the action logs pertaining to the specific work order. The regular black 'books' are the action logs for that customer and work order combined.

Accessing from within a Customer or Work Order record:

Manually Entering New Actions into Action Logs

*Note: Your customer's record must have been saved before you can manually enter an action in the Action Logs.

    • Type in to search or scroll and select the 'Action Log Type' (i.e. Note, Inbound Call, Outbound, etc.):
    • Type in whatever notes you need to regarding the subject matter. Click save. The notes will permanently save in the action log
    • Always be sure to 'Save' or 'Save & Close' your work before exiting the 'Edit' view.

    Striking Actions from the Log:

You can manually strike records from the Action Logs, if the option to do so is enabled in Admin (back end).

    • To strike an entry from an action log, click 'View All Actions (For this Record)' at the bottom of the log list (highlighted in yellow below):
    • Strikeable Action Log entries will have a check box beside them in the 'Strike' column:
    • Once the box is checked, the action is 'struck' from the record (but will still be visible as a stricken action to users with Admin permissions).
    • To 'unstrike' an action, simply click the X in the 'Strike' column.

Adding Templates to certain Action Log Types:

It is now possible to add a pre-configured template (questions to be answered, etc.) to different log types. To configure your log templates, login to the Admin portal/backend of your instance (this can be reached by adding /a to the end of your instance URL. For example, the admin portal of our demo instance can be reached at demo.fastgem.net/a ). Next, click on Config from the main Admin menu:

From within Config, click on the Quality Control tab:

Scroll down the page until you reach the list of Action Log Types (IMPORTANT: DO NOT DELETE ANY LOG TYPES FROM THIS LIST). For each log type, there is the option to add questions/labels into a 'Template':

Once you've added the desired text to your log template, make sure you Save the configuration page. In the front end, when  you select the log type from the Type dropdown, your template will load into the log text box:

**Communication tools also exist within the Actions section. For more information on communication via Actions, please see help articles "Sending a Text Message to a Customer/Lead Manually from FastGem" and "Messaging a User/Group in FastGem, and Receiving/Replying to Messages." When a customer responds to a text message sent from Actions, it will also appear in the QC log (Quality Control tab)

**To configure permissions, texting templates, and action types/labels for the Action Log, you must have administrative permissions. Login to back end (ADMIN) FastGem, go to Config>Quality Control to add/remove/edit action types, to control who can see what types of actions in the logs, and to define which log types are strikeable.Go to Config>Twilio to edit texting templates.

  • Accessing Projected Payroll and Finalized Payroll Records from within Work Order and/or Submission Records

IBOs and Internal Users with 'Can View Payroll Projection' permissions can now view projected pay as well as finalized pay for work orders from within work order records as well as from within submission records. Of course, when accessing projected and/or finalized payroll, non-internal users with the 'Can View Payroll Projection' permission will only be able to see the payroll records pertaining to themselves and those below them in their team.

To access Projected/Finalized Payroll from within a work order record:

Navigate to Orders>Appointments/Work Orders (this may be called something different or be located in a different place depending on your instance's customization), open a specific  work order, and expand the 'Payroll' tab on the right hand slider menu.

You will see the pay projected for this work order for those users you have permissions to view.

This will show as long as there is a package and rep/tech assigned to the work order, and the work order has not been finalized in Snapshot Payroll yet. If it has been finalized, then instead of this projection, you will see a 'view payroll' button where you can view the payroll(s) associated with this work order.

If for some reason only some of the payroll payments associated with this work order have been finalized, you will see both a 'view payroll' button and a payroll projection.

To access Projected/Finalized Payroll from within a customer record:

Navigate to Orders>Customers or Orders>Leads (this may be called something different or be located in a different place depending on your instance's customization), open a submission record, and expand the 'Work Orders' tab on the right hand slider menu.

From within this section, find the work order you wish to see payroll/projected payroll for, expand if necessary, and scroll down beneath the work order details until you see 'Payroll Projection':

This will show as long as there is a package and rep/tech assigned to the work order, and the work order has not been finalized in Snapshot Payroll yet. If it has been finalized, then instead of this projection, you will see a 'view payroll' button where you can view the payroll(s) associated with this work order.

If for some reason only some of the payroll payments associated with this work order have been finalized, you will see both a 'view payroll' button and a payroll projection.

  • Adding a New Package to FastGem

*You must have Internal User Permissions to access this feature!

Added packages appear in the Package Dropdown box in 'Work Orders' when you add a work order to your customer records.

Packages also track commission and (when driven by PHP code), will appear on your order form as well.

    1. From your FastGem home screen, go to Site MGMT>Packages on the menu bar. (Depending on your instance customization, the "Packages" menu item may be in a different place for you.)

    smpackages.png

    2. From the 'Packages' page, click on the 'Add Item' Icon.

    additem1.png

    3. The 'Label' field should contain the name of the package (e.g. AT&T Entertainment). We recommend making each package label within your instance unique.  The 'Cost' field should contain the cost of that particular package.

Setting 'Commission-Based Package' to YES allows commissions and business commissions to be calculated for and tied to this package.

Setting 'Selectable Package' to YES allows this package to appear for selection when creating a work order, and to appear in your forms.

As an Example, we are adding the AT&T TV package, 'Entertainment', which comes with 65+ channels, and the cost of that package is $59.99/month. So, in the 'Label' field, we will put 'AT&T TV ENTERTAINMENT'. In the 'Description' field, we will type '65+ Channels', and in the 'Cost' field, we will type '59.99'. (No dollar sign will be needed, as FastGem auto-populates the currency symbol for you.)

    4. In the dropdown box labeled 'Provider' we will select AT&T TV.  (If you do not see the Provider you need, please see the help article 'Creating and Restricting by Provider' or contact a supervisor or FastGem support).

    5. In the 'Category' field, add what service this falls under, e.g., for internet packages, add 'Internet'

(NOTE: You can also add 'SP Component Codes' to merge other packages if there are duplicates from SaraPlus integrations. Reach out to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for questions on this feature.

NOTE: You can also add a 'Score' or points for packages if you pay reps by how many points or the score is for that package. Reach out to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for questions on this feature.)

You can also set up flat fees for each rep (not recommended if commissions differ per rep) or tech who sells/installs this package, or set holdbacks and a standard commission plan for this package by selecting 'Yes' in the 'Commission Based Package' dropdown. (Please note that flat fees only go into effect if the package is set as a Commission Based Package.') After selecting 'Yes' in the 'Commission Based Package' dropdown, you will also have the option to input expected Biz Pay (what your company is to expect from the Provider) for this package. You can always go back and edit these details later if you need to. (Please see the help article "Editing Rep & Package Commission Details" for more information on adding commission plans for packages. Keep in mind that payplans and manually entered user/rep commissions override package commission configurations for reps/techs).

    6. Click 'Save' when you are finished. The package is now available among all packages. You can now assign this package to a work order.

NOTE: You can mass upload/update packages into FastGem instead of adding them one-by one. For more instructions, see THIS article.

(NOTE: FOR INSTANCES USING ORDER FORMS: If your order forms are driven by PHP code and are already set up for the provider you are adding a package for, you can select 'Yes' in the 'Selectable package' dropdown box, if you'd like for this package to display on your order form (and in dropdowns) as an option. If your order forms are driven by PHP code but are NOT yet set up for the applicable provider, select 'Yes' in the 'Selectable package' dropdown box and then see the help article 'Adding New PHP Providers to Order Form' for instructions on how to add the provider to the form. If your order form is not driven by PHP code, see the help article 'Adding Provider/Package to Order Form for Non PHP Forms' if you'd like for this package to display on your order form.)

NOTE: A new feature allows your rep and business commissions to be automatically multiplied by the number of boxes or the number of lines sold. For more information, please see the help article "Multiplying Commissions by Number of Boxes or Lines Sold."

NOTE: Mass Account uploads can now create a Package/Provider/Commission all in one. Ask This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more info about adding this feature.

  • Adding Entries to Already Finalized Payroll

If you have already finalized a payroll snapshot and wish to add an entry or entries to it, simply complete the following steps:

Put the work orders/sales you wish to add to finalized payroll into a 'cleared' status so that they appear in Snapshot payroll. Run Snapshot Payroll.

Select the check box beside the applicable work order(s)/sale(s).

Ensure that the Finalize Date is the same as the date of the already finalized snapshot. Click Finalize.

Your Finalized Payroll snapshot for that date should now reflect the new entry or entries.

For further questions, please contact FastGem support at (504) 383-0602 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  • Adding Rep Adjustments

Adding Rep Adjustments to Payroll for misc reasons:

    1. Payroll>Manage Payroll>Rep Adjustments (This may be in a slightly different place depending on your instance's customization)

    2. You will see a list of all rep adjustments in your instance. Click 'Add New'.

     3. Enter your information accordingly. Be sure to use a minus sign (-) when entering amount to effect payroll if deducting money. Save & Close.

*You can also add or edit Rep Adjustments while editing a work order record by expanding the 'Payroll' tab on the right hand side of the WO, scrolling to 'Rep Adjustments', and clicking on the green 'Plus Sign' icon to add a new rep adjustment, and click on the red 'minus' sign to delete one.

Once you fill out the necessary information, be sure to click 'Save & Close' before navigating away from the work order.

*You can also add/edit rep adjustments from within a customer record by opening the Work Orders slider within the customer record and navigating to the 'Rep Adjustments' section within the applicable work order. Click on the green 'Plus' icon to add a new rep adjustment (and click the red minus sign to delete one):

*You can also add rep adjustments from the Rep/Tech profile by opening the Rep Adjustments section at the top of the rep/tech record. From here you will also see all rep adjustments that have already been assigned to this worker:

*You can also add rep adjustments from the Mass Upload/Update/Texting tool. For more information on the tool, please see help article "Mass Upload/Update Texting Tool: General Tab."

Auto-Add Rep Adjustments based on Work Order Status:

Thanks to a new feature, you can now have rep adjustments automatically assigned to the rep assigned to a work order when that work order is placed into a certain status. You can also decide whether you want this rep adjustment (if it is negative) to be taken out of the rep's held funds balance or not. To do this, head to the Admin Portal of your instance > Config > Payroll tab, and find the 'Auto add rep adjustment on WO status' section:

Auto-Add Rep Adjustments based on Required Equipment Commission x Quantity:

If you add Required Equipment to your Work Orders and wish to pay your reps commission based on equipment sold, you can have the system generate a rep adjustment for this. The rep adjustment amount will be equal to the Commission amount entered on the Required Equipment multiplied by the quantity of that equipment. The rep adjustment will be assigned to the rep on the WO and will be generated based on Work Order status. To do this, head to the Admin Portal of your instance > Config > Payroll tab, and find the 'Enable Auto Add Rep Adjustment based on REQUIRED EQUIPMENT on WO Status' section, where you can define what statuses will trigger rep adjustment creation and the Type of rep adjustment that will be generated:

Auto Add Rep Adjustments based on Date (Rep Profile):

It is now possible to set up automated rep adjustment configurations within each rep's profile (under HR): This way you can have the system generate rep adjustments for your reps on certain days of the week without having to manually do so:

In the example above, the rep Abby Test2 will receive a $10 rep adjustment every Wednesday and Friday automatically, to appear on snapshot payroll for finalization.

NOTE: Normally, Rep Adjustments show up for processing in Snapshot Payroll immediately upon their creation. If you would like rep adjustments to only appear in Snapshot Payroll for processing after the work order they are associated with has been cleared, please let FastGem Support know and we will adjust your instance configurations accordingly. Likewise, if you would like rep adjustments to only appear in Snapshot Payroll if their effective/report date is within or before the snapshot payroll dates being run, we can do that for you as well: (504) 298-4767 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

    Thank you for using FastGem!

  • Adding, Assigning, and Editing Tech Pay Plans

    CREATING TECH PAYPLANS:

First, navigate to your pay plan list.

Next, click 'Add Item' at the top of the page.

Name your new pay plan, and select 'Tech Pay Plan' from the 'Plan Type' dropdown.

Tech commission options will appear on the right side of the screen. Use the green 'Add Item' button to enter tech commission details.

Note that for each commission type, you can specify a provider. If no provider is specified, then the commission details for that type apply to all providers, other than those that ARE specified. For example, in the picture above, techs on the payplan Tech Plan 3 will receive a commission of $85 for each 'First Receiver' they install for every provider except ADT. For ADT installations, they will receive a $100 commission for every 'First Receiver.'

    OVERRIDES:

If automatic override calculation is turned OFF for your instance (meaning manual override calculation is turned ON), and you would like to specify overrides on you payplan, you can do it here as well. In the Tech Commission section, choose an override option from the dropdown and enter the appropriate number. This is what the LEAD tech of the tech on this pay plan will receive when the tech on this pay plan completes an install. You can of course specify Providers for overrides, as well.

NOTE: If you refrain from adding overrides to your pay plan, and automatic override calculation is turned off (manual on), then when a tech on this pay plan completes an install, no overrides will be calculated for the technician above them in the hierarchy.

NOTE: By setting a FLAT OVERRIDE, you are designating what the LEAD tech of the tech on this plan will receive when the tech on this pay plan completes an install, regardless of the number of receivers.

NOTE: You should only add overrides to tech commission manually in this way if automatic override calculation is turned off. If automatic override calculation is turned ON,FastGem will ignore the override amounts (even flat override amounts) manually entered in the Tech Commission section and instead calculate the difference between tech receiver commissions to find the override(s). When automatic override calculation is turned on, the Tech who completes the install (the Direct Tech) will receive whatever commission is configured for them (in their profile or in their payplan, if they're on one) for that package and number of receivers. Their Lead Tech's pay as configured for that package and number of receivers in this payplan, minus the Direct Tech's pay, will be the Lead Tech's actual override commission.

    FLAT FEES:

At the bottom of the pay plan page, there will be a compensation section which includes the option to enter a 'Flat Tech Fee' for specific packages (ignore the comm low/comm med/comm high boxes; these are for reps and will not affect technician pay).

Whether or not automatic override calculation is turned on or off, flat fees trump commissions, and do away with overrides/downline overrides. For example, when a technician on the pay plan pictured below installs most packages other than ADT, they will receive $85 for the first receiver, and $30 for each additional receiver. Any techs over them will receive $20 for the first receiver and $5 for each additional receiver. However, when a tech on this plan installs the package 'alarm system,' they will receive a flat Tech fee of $75. Their lead tech, if they have one, will not receive any override commission whatsoever for that package.

    ASSIGNING PLANS TO TECHS:

Plans can be assigned to multiple techs at once using the mass update feature at the top of the screen in the Rep/Tech Profiles list view. Simply use the check boxes to select the technicians you wish to assign a plan to, click the 'Mass Update' button at the top of your screen, select the Tech payplan you want from the Tech Plan dropdown, and click the green 'Mass Update' button:

You can also assign a plan to an individual tech by editing their profile and selecting a plan from the Tech Pay Plan dropdown:

For information on configuring technician commissions individually (no pay plans), see help article 'Editing Tech Commission Details (No Payplan).'

  • Adding/Assigning New Rep Payplans (VIDEO EXPLANATION)

Note: If you do not have a solid hierarchy for your reps and instead wish reps to sometimes split commissions and sometimes receive the entire commission themselves, please ask FastGem Support about turning on 'Allow when rep & lead same person, double pay' for you.

PLEASE NOTE: In the video above, rep commissions when not assigned a payplan appear at the bottom of a rep's profile. An update has since been added to FastGem to ensure faster page load. Now, individual rep commissions (when not on a payplan) do not appear at the bottom of their screen, but instead as a pop-up that can be accessed by clicking the Rep Commission button at the top of the rep's profile. Clicking Process Data in this pop-up is what saves a rep's commissions:

*** YOU CAN INCLUDE VOLUME BONUS DETAILS IN A PAY PLAN BY CLICKING ON THE 'REP VOLUME BONUS' SLIDER IN THE PAY PLAN RECORD:

If a rep has volume bonus details set in their individual rep record, the system will take those into account rather than the volume bonuses on the rep's pay plan. MORE INFORMATION ON VOLUME BONUSES CAN BE FOUND IN THE HELP ARTICLE 'SETTING AND PROCESSING VOLUME BONUSES'

***FOR MORE INFORMATION ON MASS UPDATING FROM THE LIST VIEW, PLEASE SEE THE ARTICLE "MASS UPDATING RECORDS FROM THE LIST VIEW."

*** FOR MORE INFORMATION ON CREATING TECH PAYPLANS, SEE HELP ARTICLE 'ADDING/ASSIGNING NEW TECH PAY PLANS.')

***PLEASE NOTE: THE EXAMPLE INSTANCE IN THE ABOVE VIDEO HAS AUTOMATIC PAYROLL CALCULATION TURNED ON. WITH AUTOMATIC PAYROLL CALCULATION TURNED OFF, YOUR VIEW WILL BE MORE COMPLICATED (THERE WILL BE ADDITONAL OVERRIDE/DOWNLINE OVERRIDE BOXES). FOR MORE INFORMATION ON AUTOMATIC PAYROLL CALCULATION, PLEASE SEE HELP ARTICLE "AUTOMATIC PAYROLL CALCULATION VS. MANUAL PAYROLL CALCULATION."

***PLEASE NOTE: THE NUMBERS THAT AUTOPOPULATE IN THE FEE/COMMISSION/DOWNLINE/HOLDBACK BOXES WHEN EDITING/ASSIGNING PLANS ARE THE NUMBERS WHICH WERE ENTERED DURING EACH PACKAGE'S CONFIGURATION. OF COURSE, PAYPLANS AND MANUALLY ENTERED USER/REP COMMISSIONS OVERRIDE ORIGINAL PACKAGE CONFIGURATIONS.

  • Adding/Editing Promotion Options, and Adding Promotions to Work Orders

Promotions are basically pre-configured rep adjustments to be attached to work orders as needed. Promotions can effect rep pay, business pay, or both.

The following article walks you through how to edit promotions and/or add promotions into the system. For instructions on how to tie a promotion to a work order for payout, please see help article 'Creating a Work Order Within a Person Record.'

Viewing/Editing your currently Active Promotions in FastGem (Front End):

Hover over Payroll, hover over Manage Payroll, and click Active Promotions (Depending on your instance's customization, your 'Active Promotions' page may be located in a different place or be named something slightly different).

You will see a screen of all your active promotions (promotions that have been assigned to work orders):

You can click to edit or view the details of a promotion:

Don't forget to click 'Save & Close' when finished!

If you need to mass update a large number of currently active promotions that have not yet been finalized through snapshot payroll, see THIS article.

    Adding/Editing Promotions in Admin Portal:

***You must have Admin Permissions to access the following features in FastGem.

Login to Admin (Back end) FastGem, and click 'Config':

Within Config, navigate to the 'Promotions' tab.

You may see the list of Promotions, if there are already promotions entered in your instance. The numbers in the Amount column reflect the amount each promotion will add/subtract to/from the rep's pay for each sale, while the numbers in the Biz Amount column reflect the amount each promotion will add/subtract to/from the expected business commission (from provider) for each sale. Toggle the 'Affects Rep Payroll' toggle at the top of the image below to 'YES' if you wish to allow promotions to affect rep payroll:

Note that if there is nothing entered in the Biz Amount field, the promotion will default to using the Rep Amount as the Biz Amount in payroll, while if there is 0 entered in the Biz Amount field, the Biz amount for that promotion will process as $0 through payroll.

Use the green button to add a new promotion. Rather than deleting a promotion entirely using the red button, we recommend unpublishing the promotion instead using the 'State' dropdown; this will ensure that past records of this promotion remain accessible. Use the blue button to rearrange the order in which the promotions will appear in the dropdown (front end). In addition, you can select whether or not each promotion defaults to affect the rep's pay or your company pay using the 'Enable Rep by Default' and 'Enable Biz by Default' dropdowns.

You can also add/change promotion status options from here, by clicking on the 'Click Here To Edit' Promotion Status button.

Mass Add: Multiple Promotions at the Same Time

Note: Only Admin users can access and perform this function from the instance's back end.

    Overview

The Mass Add Promotion feature allows Admin users to add multiple promotions to an instance at the same time. Instead of creating each promotion individually, you can enter multiple promotion details in one process and upload them all at once.

    Steps to Add Multiple Promotions

    1. Log in to the Back End

First, log in to your instance's back end using an Admin account.

    screenshotz.png

    2. Open Config

Once you are logged in, click Config to access the configuration settings.

    3. Open Promotions

From the Config page, click the Promotion button located in the upper-right corner.

You will see several available options. Look for and select Add Mass Promotion Configs.

    screenshotx.jpg

    4. Enter Promotion Details

After selecting Add Mass Promotion Configs, a new page will open.

On this page, enter all the required promotion information, such as:

    • Name
    • Description
    • Amount
    • Other fields required by your instance's promotion format

You can add as many promotions as needed

    5. Add additional Rows

To create another row for a new promotion, simply press the Enter key. A new row will automatically be generated, allowing you to continue entering additional promotion details.

Repeat this process until you have entered all the promotions you want to add.

    6. Mass Upload the Promotions

Once you have finished entering all the required information, click the Mass Upload button located next to the promotion entry area.

    screenshotc.jpg

The system will process the information and automatically save the promotions to your instance's front end.

    Summary

The Add Mass Promotion Configs feature makes it easier for Admin users to create multiple promotions quickly and efficiently. By entering the promotion details in multiple rows and using Mass Upload, you can add several promotions at once without having to create each one individually.

Adding/Editing Promotions in Front End FastGem:

To get to your Promotions configurations in the front-end of your instance, head to SITE MGMT > Config > Promotions (Depending on your instance's customization, your 'Active Promotions' page may be located in a different place or be named something slightly different. If you are having trouble finding them, please contact support):

From there you can add/edit promotions setup just like you would in the Admin portal (see section above).

Adding Promotions to a Work Order in front end:

Method 1: Add a promotion to an individual work order:

To add a promotion to a Work Order, simply edit the customer/lead record in FastGem. From there, expand the "Work Orders" slider, and find/expand the Work Order to which you want to add the promotion:

Scroll down the Work Order details until you find the Promotions section. Use the green 'plus sign' icon to add a promotion. You can select a Promotion from the dropdown, set its status, add notes, and designate whether the promotion will affect the pay of the rep attached to the work order, the pay your business expects to receive from the Provider, or both.

Note: If you have specific amounts per promotion turned on, then when you add a promotion to a work order, you will have the ability to adjust that promotion amount per work order, as shown below:

If you do not have this feature turned on for your instance but would like it to be, please contact FastGem support.

Don't forget to "Save & Close" when finished!

Method 2: Mass-add a promotion to multiple work orders at once:

If you have multiple work orders which all need the same promotion, and you have the identifying numbers for those work orders, you can use the 'Mass Update WO Status' tool to mass-add promotions. Simply navigate to your 'Mass Update WO Status' AKA 'Mass Update Installations' tool (this may be located somewhere different from shown below, depending on your instance customization):

From this page, similarly to how you would add a promotion to an individual work order, you can use the green plus icon to add a promotion or several promotions to be added to the work orders you identify by their Account/WO/Service Order numbers below:

    Then just click 'Update'!

Promotions added here will not replace existing promotions attached to the updated work orders.

PROBLEM: PROMOTIONS NOT SHOWING UP FOR PROCESSING IN SNAPSHOT PAYROLL:

If you have added promotions to a work order and that work order has been cleared but the promotions are still not showing up in Snapshot payroll:

    1. Make sure the package attached to the work order is a commission based package.

    2. Make sure the direct rep's commissions are up-to-date regarding that package. If the package was previously set as NON-commission based, you will need likely need to update the rep's commissions in order to see the promotions appear in Snapshot payroll.

  • Assigning Tasks to Individual Users in FastGem

You can assign tasks to other users in FastGem, and tie them to specific customer records as well.

Note: If you would like users or lead reps to receive email reminders of their tasks, ask Support and we will gladly help you set those up.

From the Leads, Customers, Accounts/Properties, or Work Order 'List' view, click on the 'Book' (Action Log) icon.

You can also access the 'Create Task' feature by entering a person's record, a property record, or work order record and clicking on 'Actions.'

Click on 'Create Task'. Select a User from the dropdown provided, set a due date, and type in the task description. Click 'Save.'

If this is assigned from the Work Order or Submission page, it will automatically be tied to that order as well as the person.

The task will show up when the assigned user logs in and clicks 'My Tasks' or when an Internal User clicks 'Rep Tasks' (This may be called something different in your instance).

An alert will also appear for the user assigned the task letting them know they have a task to complete. You can decide whether you want the alert to show immediately, or only once the due date for the task has arrived (This can be configured in the Admin portal of your instance by going to Config> Content Types > Tasks. If you need help, just let FastGem Support know).

They can then click on the MY TASKS (it's a hyperlink) and it will take them directly to the MY TASKS list view to view assigned tasks.

NEW: When a task's due date has arrived, you will see due tasks listed on your homepage beneath the logout button, with an option to complete or to 'Snooze' a task for a day as well:

Once a task is complete, the assigned user or an internal user can change the status to reflect.

Task records will appear in applicable Action Logs, as well.

     FOR INTERNAL USERS:

Internal users can click on the 'Tasks' menu item and 'Task Management' to edit/assign Tasks in FastGem as well.

    From this page:

Click to edit or view an existing task, or click on 'Add item' To Create a New task. Make selections in the User Dropdowns, select a due date, status, etc. You have the option to attach this task to a customer record or Work Order as well.

  • Automatic Payroll/Override Calculation vs. Manual Payroll Calculation

FastGem offers different options for adding overrides and downline overrides to pay plans and individual rep commissions.  Automatic vs. Manual.

With MANUAL payrolloverride calculation, you will need to enter override/downline override numbers for each package when creating/configuring pay plans or commissions. This approach automatically calculates payroll based on the entered commissions in the direct reps' pay plan.

If automatic payroll/override calculation is turned OFF for your instance, payplans/commission settings will look as shown in the image below, because you will need to enter the overrides/downline overrides: (Bottom-up pay)

For example, if Jane Doe is assigned the compensation plan in the image above, and she sells the package AT&T Internet 1000 MBPS to a low credit risk customer, she will receive $200. Jane Doe's lead rep, if she has one, will receive $10 for that sale, and if that rep has a lead rep, they will recieve $5, and so on up to five levels up. In this way, overrides and downline overrides will be determined based on the amounts listed in the direct rep's (the rep who makes the sale) compensation plan.

With AUTOMATIC payroll calculation, place team leaders on pay plans with higher commission rates than their team members, and FastGem will calculate the difference for you. This will be calculated automatically by the system as the difference between a team leader's commission for a particular package/service and their team member's commission for the same package.

Payplans and commission settings for instances with automatic payroll/override calculation turned ON will look as shown in the image below. FastGem calculates the overrides/downline overrides automatically, by using the difference between the lead rep(s) commissions and the direct rep's commissions: (TOP down pay)

For example, if Automatic override calculation is turned ON, and Susan Smith is on the compensation plan in the image above, and she sells AT&T Internet 1000 MBPS to a low credit risk customer, she will receive $50. If Susan has a lead rep whom she reports to, and her lead rep's compensations are set to this:

...then her lead rep will receive $70 - $50 = $20. (If Susan's lead rep had sold the package to the customer directly, then the lead rep would, of course, receive the full $70 and Susan would receive nothing.) This automatic calculation, based on commission differences, can extend up a rep hierarchy as far as you wish, with lead reps at the top of the hierarchy receiving the difference in commission between their own commission plan and the plan of the rep directly below them in the hierarchy. (For more information on assigning reps in a hierarchy, see THIS help article.)

    FOR TECHNICIANS

NOTE: Automatic vs. Manual payroll/override calculation applies to Technician pay plans and commission settings as well. If automatic payroll/override calculation is turned off for your instance (manual on), you can set up overrides manually under the Tech Commission section of either a pay plan or technician profile (for more information on configuring Technician pay, please see help articles 'Editing Tech Commission Details (No Payplan)' and 'Adding, Assigning, and Editing Tech Pay Plans'):

If automatic override calculation is turned ON, FastGem will ignore any override amounts manually entered in the Tech Commission section and instead calculate the difference between tech receiver commissions to find the override(s).

If you would like automatic payroll calculation turned ON, or OFF for your instance, please contact FastGem support at (504) 298-4767 (or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

  • Basic Payroll Navigation for Payroll Admins

**NOTE: The pages shown in the video below may be called something slightly different or be located differently within your instance, due to FastGem's customizable nature. If you are having trouble locating the necessary pages/information, please contact a supervisor or reach out to FastGem support at (504) 298-4767 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Note: If you are just getting started in FastGem and are in charge of setting up the commissions for your instance, then prior to watching this video, check out these articles:

In this video, find a basic walk through on navigating payroll, running payroll, and how to choose what is/isn't viewable to reps and when.

    Permissions Necessary: Payroll Admin

      (Spanish video translation HERE).

NOTE: This video shows a completed payroll snapshot being deleted from the Finalized payroll page. It can take 5 - 10 minutes for a finalized payroll snapshot to be completely deleted. Once you hit the trashcan icon, the payroll is marked for deletion. You will recieve an email at the email address linked to your FastGem user record, when the deletion is complete.

Note: Finalized payroll listed in 'View Payroll' will be displayed according to the date set beside the 'Finalize' button when finalizing Snapshot Payroll.

Note: As shown in the video above, when running Snapshot Payroll, all payroll entries left over from previous snapshots (which were not cleared along with the other entries processed at that time for the same work order) will appear under the subheading 'Held Payroll Payments.' These types of held payments are static in time regardless of changes made to the work order later, even if the work order is cancelled or the rep/tech changed. They can only be removed by a) deleting the ENTIRE finalized snapshot holding previously finalized payouts for the order, or b) the individual held payments being deleted from your Held Payroll Payments list (for information on how to delete them, see THIS help article or ask FastGem support).

Note: Any Chargeback-type rep adjustments automatically created by the system when a work order is set to a Chargeback status will not appear in Snapshot Payroll for Processing unless the 'Chrg' checkbox is checked. This box is checked automatically for all instances who do not have a Chargeback limit set. For more information on Chargeback limits, please see THIS help article.

(Note: In the RARE case that you have a particular setting turned on that tells FastGem to only show non-chargeback type rep adjustments associated with a work order in snapshot payroll if that work order is in a cleared/completed status, then in order to see non-chargeback type rep adjustments for work orders in chargeback status (e.g. held funds used) you will need to check the 'All RA' checkbox when running snapshot payroll:

This 'All RA' checkbox only appears when the setting limiting rep adjustment appearance based on work order status is enabled. Most instances will not have it.)

    NEGATIVE PAYROLL BALANCE:

If desired, FastGem can 'carry over' negative balances from your payroll runs, so that you do not run the risk of finalizing a negative payout to a rep and accidentally losing that money as a business. There are two options for how to do this:

Option 1: Checkbox in Snapshot Payroll:

If when you run payroll, the total chargebacks/negative payments to the rep exceeds the positive payments to the rep, you will see this checkbox line at the bottom of that rep's payroll section:

This video explains the function of that check box:

Option 2: Create Negative Balance Rep Adjustments in Finalized Payroll record:

If you have a larger instance and prefer to run payroll in portions (one rep type at a time, etc) rather than all at once, then this second option is likely better for you. First, run Snapshot Payroll as normal, without checking the 'generate negative rep adjustment' checkbox above (support can remove this checkbox for you so you don't check it by accident). Then, once all your payouts for the pay period have been finalized, head to your Finalized Payroll reports and click to view the desired pay period. In the upper right corner, if enabled, you will have the ability to generate negative rep adjustments for all those reps whose total Payment is a negative number in this finalized pay period. You can define a Reported Date for those rep adjustments and a Type as well, before clicking Process:

COMMON PAYROLL ISSUES AND HOW TO SOLVE THEM:

    • If a rep or tech is not showing up in the payroll projection for an order, check to make sure their ME record is linked to their user record correctly: THIS article will explain how to link a user record to a rep/tech record correctly.
    • If a rep or tech's pay for an order is not updating even though you have edited their pay plan/commissions, it is likely that the amount that is not updating is a held payment, generated because someone else (e.g. a lead rep) was paid on the order already. Once payment has been finalized (cleared through snapshot payroll) for another rep/tech on the order, the other rep/techs' payroll for that order is 'set in stone'. In order to change it, it is usually easiest to delete the held payment (see THIS article for instructions on how to do that) and add a rep adjustment for the correct amount manually (see THIS article on rep adjustments).
    • If a direct rep's pay is not showing up or is showing as $0 on a cleared order when their pay plan/commissions are set with the correct payment amount and the order has a cleared date on it, check to see if the rep has 'Runs Own Payroll' permissions set (for more information, see THIS help article). If the direct rep has 'Runs Own Payroll' set to Yes and there is a Lead Rep listed on the order, that will prevent the direct rep from getting the correct pay.
    • If a downline override is not appearing in payroll, see THIS help article.
    • If an override has been assigned to the wrong lead rep, see THIS help article.
    • If an override/downline override amount is showing as $0, see THIS help article.
    • If a Cleared/Completed work order is not showing up in Snapshot Payroll, see THIS help article.

  • Chargeback Rep Adjustments and Held Funds Used

When a work order is put into Chargeback status after the reps involved in the order have already been paid for the sale, FastGem can automatically create negative rep adjustments tied to that work order to offset their previous commissions (including any promotions and per WO volume bonus amounts (NOT flat amount volume bonus amounts)that have been finalized through payroll) from the order (see below for instructions on how to enable automatic chargeback rep adjustments):

There are two ways Chargebacks can effect holdbacks: 1) FastGem will delete the held amounts tied to these reps for this work order from the held amount report, if applicable.

    2) The Chargeback amount is deducted from the rep's total held amount balance (whether the release date for a holdback has passed or not), and applicable rep adjustments are created which reflect what holdbacks were used.

A record of holdbacks used to offset a chargedback order will also appear in each of the applicable work orders' Action Logs:

Note that if a rep does not have enough holdbacks in their account to fully cover a chargeback, the chargeback will be 'split' into two amounts, one covered by holdback funds and one not. For example, in the image below, Abby Test had a chargeback of $45, but she had only $21.75 in her total holdback balance. So FastGem split the chargeback into two chargeback rep adjustments, one for $21.75 and one for the remainder ($45 - $21.75 = $23.25):

If any promotions or rep adjustments were attached to the order that was chargedback and previously cleared through payroll, then the amount of those promotions or rep adjustments (whether positive or negative) will be added to the chargeback amount for that order automatically.

Assuming the 'Chrg' checkbox is checked before Snapshot Payroll is run, chargeback rep adjustments will then appear in the next periods' Snapshot Payroll to be processed, along with any offsetting Held Funds rep adjustments, if applicable:

(If you have a Chargeback Limit set for your instance, the chargeback may not appear in payroll right away, depending on orders already processed through payroll on the same date. For more information, please see THIS help article).

If you want to see a list of the chargebacks that are waiting to be chargedback to your reps/techs but have not been chargedback yet, contact FastGem Support and ask us to build you a Pending Chargebacks Report:

If you would like to see the amount of Chargebacks reclaimed from your reps for one processed pay period, and/or the amount of holdback funds used to offset those chargebacks, contact FastGem Support and ask about a Chargebacks Processed/Held Funds used report, which will show you these numbers at a glance:

ENABLING AUTOMATIC CHARGEBACK REP ADJUSTMENTS and AUTOMATIC HOLDBACK DEDUCTIONS IN CONFIG:

To enable automatic chargeback rep adjustments when a work order is set to Chargeback status, you must first set up a Chargeback status in your configurations (assuming you don't have a Chargeback status already).

Head to the admin portal (backend) of your instance. You can access the admin portal by adding /a to the end of your instance URL. For example, the link to the admin portal of our demo instance is demo.fastgem.net/a

From the Admin portal main page, click Config:

Note: Users with special Configuration User permissions will be able to access Config from the front end of their instance by heading to SITE MGMT > Config:

Once in Config, the 'Content Types' tab will be the first tab on the left. Click to open the 'Work Orders' slider and click 'Click Here to Edit' under Work Order Status:

Add your Chargeback status to the Work Order Status list, and click Done on the pop up. Save the page.

Open the Work Orders slider in Config again and find the field for Chargeback APP Status. Enter your Chargeback Status there:

    Save the page again.

Next, head to the Payroll tab of Config. To enable automatic Chargeback calculation when a cleared work order is set to Chargeback status, toggle the 'Enable Auto Rep Adjustment when Appointment set to Chargeback' toggle to YES. To enable these automatic chargebacks to be deducted automatically from a Rep's Held Amount balance, toggle 'Enable Automatic Holdback Deduction on Chargeback to YES.

Note: If you wish to chargeback only certain percentages of the original payment depending on Provider and/or the age of the order, see THIS article.

Note: If you would like a Reconciliation Report to be unpublished/removed from Revenue reporting when the work order is charged back, you can set this up in the Admin portal of your instance by following these instructions:

Head to the backend of your instance (add /a to the end of your instance address. For example, demo.fastgem.net/a) and click Config.

    Then, click the Payroll tab.

Toggle 'Unpublish Recon and Biz Revenue on Chargeback' to YES. (This will also unpublish the existing reconciliation report that reflects the amount earned from the Provider for this sale):

Chargebacks can also affect Total Account Revenue and Total Account Payments on a Property/Account record. For more information on Properties/Accounts in FastGem, see THIS article.

Note: If you would like Referral Fees to be charged back to reps as well as normal commissions, then you must toggle "Chargeback Referral Fee" to YES in their rep profile:

    NEGATIVE PAYROLL BALANCE CHECKBOX:

If when you run payroll, the total chargebacks/negative payments to the rep exceeds the positive payments to the rep, you will see this checkbox line at the bottom of that rep's payroll section:

For more information about the Negative Balance carry over checkbox, please see THIS help article (section titled 'NEGATIVE PAYROLL BALANCE').

  • Chargebacks for Technicians Based on Unutilized Inventory

If you want your technicians to be automatically charged for inventory after it has been consigned to them but not activated for a certain number of days, or if you want to be able to manually set a piece of inventory to Chargeback status and have payroll adjustments created for your technicians to reflect, you will love this new feature.

When this feature is enabled, then after you set a piece of inventory to a chargeback status, chargeback rep adjustments for the cost of that inventory piece will automatically be created for the applicable technician. These chargebacks will appear in the action logs of both the technician and the inventory piece, with serial number listed (in parenthesis below) for easy identification.

Assuming the 'Chrg' checkbox is checked before Snapshot Payroll is run, the chargeback rep adjustment will also appear in Snapshot Payroll for processing, again with serial number listed (in parenthesis below) for easy identification. (If you have a Chargeback Limit set for your instance, the chargeback may not appear in payroll right away, depending on orders already processed through payroll on the same date. For more information, please see THIS help article).

In addition to chargeback rep adjustments being created for technicians when a piece of inventory is manually set to Chargeback status, FastGem can also be configured to put a piece of inventory into chargeback status and create the applicable chargeback rep adjustment for it automatically, if that piece of inventory has been consigned to a technician but not activated/assigned to a customer for a pre-set number of days.

CONFIGURING INVENTORY CHARGEBACKS IN ADMIN (ADMINISTRATIVE PERMISSIONS REQUIRED):

To configure inventory chargebacks, login to the admin portal (backend) of your instance (this can be reached by adding /a to the end of your instance URL. For example, the URL for the admin portal of our demo instance is demo.fastgem.net/a). From the main menu, click 'Config.'

(Note: users with special Configuration User permissions will not need to login to the admin portal (backend) to access the Config section; instead, they can navigate to SITE MGMT > Config).

Once you are in Config, then, in the Content Types tab (the first tab along the top of your screen),  click to open the Inventory section. There are four different configurations you will need to set here, pointed out with red arrows below:

First, you will need to add a Chargeback status to the inventory Status list, assuming one does not exist already. Click the Inventory Status 'Click here to Edit' icon and use the green buttons to add a new status.

    Save.

Next, select the chargeback status you just added in the 'Chargeback Inventory (to tech) Status' dropdown.

Next, toggle the 'Inventory Auto Chargeback (when set to chargeback status)' option to YES.

Next, if you want FastGem to automatically place consigned and un-activated inventory items into chargeback status and create the applicable chargeback rep adjustment after a certain number of days, enter that number of days in the box labeled 'Inventory Chargeback After Duration (scan daily for consignment passed this date and chargeback)'. An entry of '0' will result in no auto-chargebacks.

    Remember to save your changes!

For more information on Inventory in FastGem, please see help category 'Equipment and Inventory.'

For further questions regarding inventory chargebacks, please contact FastGem support at (504) 383-0602 or by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

  • Editing and Adding Notes to Finalized Payroll

    • **You must have the 'Payroll Admin' permission assigned in order to access this feature.

ADDING NOTES ON INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE PAY:

    • Login to your FastGem. Hover over 'Payroll,' and click on 'View Payroll.' This will bring you to your Viewable/Finalized Payroll. (Note: depending on your instance's customization, the 'View Payroll' page may be called something slightly different (such as simply 'Payroll') and be located in a different place (such as under 'Reporting,' etc.)
    • To add notes to a particular rep(s) payroll, click the 'Edit' icon to the right of the snapshot date you are wanting to add to.
    • Click on the green 'Plus sign' icon to the right of the 'Notes' section. In the dropdown box titled 'Rep', select the rep whose payroll you want to add the note to. Then, click into the box to the right and type the note you wish to relay. When you are done, click 'Save'.
    • You should now see the note reflected on the applicable person's payroll.

    ADDING ADMIN NOTES:

    • Admin Notes will appear at the bottom of your page when you view a particular Snapshot in Finalized/Viewable Payroll:
    • To add Admin Notes, enter and edit a viewable Payroll record and navigate to the 'Misc' tab.
    • Enter your notes.
    • Don't forget to Save before exiting the record!

    OTHER EDITS:

    • You can also click the 'Trash Can' icon to delete snapshots to override them. NOTE: It can take 5 - 10 minutes for a finalized payroll snapshot to be completely deleted. Once you hit the trashcan icon, the payroll is marked for deletion. You will recieve an email at the email address linked to your FastGem user record, when the deletion is complete.
    • Or, you can click to Edit a finalized snapshot and use the red Delete buttons to delete only certain lines/entries from within the snapshot.
    • By clicking the 'Preview' icon (Eyeball), you can also get a preview of the finalized snapshot instead of clicking into it.
  • Editing Rep and Package Commission Details (No Payplan)

YOU MUST BE AN INTERNAL USER WITH 'CAN VIEW COMPS' AND 'CAN EDIT COMPS' PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THIS FEATURE!

Note: If you do not have a solid hierarchy for your reps and instead wish reps to sometimes split commissions and sometimes receive the entire commission themselves, please ask FastGem Support about turning on 'Allow when rep & lead same person, double pay' for you.

***Note: The menu options in the video below may not be found in the same places in your own instance. The names of the menu options may also be different. This is due to instance customization.

NOTE: The numbers that autopopulate in the fee/commission/downline/holdback boxes when editing individual rep comps are the numbers which were entered during each package's configuration. Payplans and manually entered user/rep commissions override package configurations.

Note: When Mass Updating Rep Commissions, copying existing compensation plans will NOT copy over Referrer Flat Override by Rep amounts or Volume Bonuses. The Rep chosen in the 'Copy Comps From' dropdown should not be on a payplan, and neither should the reps being updated, as using the Mass Update Rep Comm tool will NOT take the reps who are being updated off their payplans if they are already on a payplan, assign them a payplan if they are not on one, or change the payplan they are on.

NOTE: The examples shown in the video above reflect an instance wherein automatic payroll calculation is turned OFF. This is why you can see the Override and Downline Override boxes when configuring commissions. When automatic payroll calculation is turned ON, setting commissions is simpler. For more information on the difference between manual and automatic payroll calculation, please see help article "Automatic Payroll Calculation vs. Manual Payroll Calculation."

NOTE: A new feature allows rep and business commissions to be multiplied by the number of lines/boxes sold. For more information, please see help article "Multiplying Commissions by Number of Boxes or Lines Sold."

    FLAT FEES:

In a rep's individual commissions pop-up, (applicable if they are not on a payplan), there will be a compensation section which includes the option to enter a 'Flat Rep Fee' for specific packages.

Flat fees trump commissions, and do away with overrides/downline overrides. Holdbacks, however, still apply to flat fees (as do number of lines/boxes commission multipliers, if enabled). For example, when the rep whose profile is pictured below sells the package 'alarm system,' then rather than receiving the commissions entered for them of $100, $50, or $0 depending on customer credit risk, they will receive a flat fee of '$100' regardless of credit risk (but that $100 will be multiplied by number of boxes/lines, if applicable), with a holdback of 11%. Their lead rep, if they have one, will not receive any override commission from this rep's 'alarm system' sale.

  • Editing Tech Commission Details (No Payplan)

Enter and Edit a Tech Profile.

Navigate to the 'Tech Commission' section on the right half of their profile screen (Note: this option only appears when a tech is NOT on a payplan. You cannot enter customized commissions per tech and also assign a pay plan to that tech. For information on configuring Tech Pay Plans, see help article 'Adding, Assigning, and Editing Tech Payplans').

Use the green 'Add Item' button to enter commission details:

Note: You will not see the 'Tech Commission' section marked above, if a Tech Pay Plan has already been assigned to that user. De-select the Tech Pay Plan in order to see the individual Tech Commission section.

Note that for each commission type, you can specify a provider. If no provider is specified, then the commission details for that type apply to all providers, other than those that ARE specified. For example, in the picture above, Test Tech will receive a commission of $85 for each 'First Receiver' they install for every provider except ADT. For ADT installations, they will receive a $100 commission for every 'First Receiver.'

    FLAT FEES:

Within a tech's 'Rep Commission' pop-up, (which appears if they are not on a rep payplan), there will be a compensation section which includes the option to enter a 'Flat Tech Fee' for specific packages (ignore the comm low/comm med/comm high boxes; these are for reps and will not affect technician pay).

Flat fees entered here trump commissions, and do away with overrides/downline overrides. For example, when the technician whose profile is pictured below installs most packages, they will receive whatever commission has been entered for them in the 'Tech Commission' section cited above. However, when they install the packages 'alarm system' and/or 'At&t Internet 1000 MBPS,' they will not receive their 'Tech Commission' as entered in the 'Tech Commission' section; instead they will receive a flat Tech fee of $100 and/or $56 dollars, respectively. Their lead tech, if they have one, will not receive any override commission from this tech's 'alarm system' and/or 'At&t Internet 1000 MBPS' installs.

    OVERRIDES:

If your technician reports to another technician, there are two ways that lead technician can receive override commissions for installations by the tech whose commissions you are editing. The first is to not enter any overrides manually and instead to allow FastGem to automatically calculate a difference in pay. To do so, Manual override calculation must be turned OFF for your instance (automatic override calculation turned ON). If automatic override calculation is turned on, then the tech who completes the install (the direct technician) will receive whatever commission is entered for them for that package and that number of receivers. Their Lead Tech's Pay as configured for that same package, minus the Direct Tech's pay, will be the Lead Tech's actual override commission.

The second way to specify override commissions for techs not on a pay plan is to do it from the profile of the technician who completes the install (the 'direct' technician). This only works if Manual override calculation is turned ON for your instance (automatic override calculation turned OFF). In the Tech Commission section, choose an override option from the dropdown and enter the appropriate number. This is what the Lead Tech of the tech whose profile you are editing will receive when the technician whose profile you are editing completes an install.

NOTE: By setting a FLAT OVERRIDE, you are designating what the LEAD tech of the tech whose commissions you are editing will receive when the tech whose commissions you are editing completes an install, regardless of the number of receivers.

NOTE: You can of course specify Providers for overrides, as well. (Note: You can also set these types of technician overrides using pay plans. For more information on configuring tech pay plans, please see help article 'Adding, Assigning, and Editing Tech Payplans').

NOTE: If you refrain from adding overrides in the direct tech's commissions, and manual override calculation is turned on, then when a tech on this pay plan completes an install, no overrides will be calculated for the technician above them in the hierarchy.

NOTE: If manual override calculation is turned off (automatic on), then regardless of what you enter as overrides (even flat overrides) in the Tech Commission section, FastGem will ignore those overrides and calculate the difference in pay instead.
